Ayurvedic Pregnancy Massage

A nurturing journey of relaxation, balance, and connection with your baby.
Pregnancy is a beautiful and transformative journey, bringing profound changes to your body, mind, and emotions. As your baby grows, your body works continuously to nourish and support new life. During this special time, you deserve moments of deep relaxation, gentle care, and connection with yourself and your baby.
Our Ayurvedic Pregnancy Massage is inspired by the traditional South Indian approach to pregnancy care, combining warm herbal oils with gentle Marma massage techniques.
In Ayurveda, pregnancy is a time when Vāta — the energy of movement and change — requires particular attention. Creating warmth, stability, and a sense of grounding is considered essential for supporting the well-being of both mother and baby.
What can you expect?
The massage is carefully adapted to your stage of pregnancy, physical comfort, and individual needs.
Using warm, nourishing herbal oils and gentle, flowing movements, the treatment encourages deep relaxation and helps release tension throughout the body.
The benefits may include:
- Relieving tension in the back, shoulders, hips, and legs.
- Encouraging relaxation and a sense of physical comfort.
- Supporting circulation and easing feelings of heaviness.
- Calming the mind and promoting emotional balance.
- Creating a beautiful opportunity to connect with your growing baby.
Marma therapy is an important part of the treatment. Within Ayurveda, Marma points are considered vital energy points where different tissues and subtle energies meet. Gentle attention to these points is traditionally used to encourage relaxation, harmony, and a deeper awareness of the body.
Preparing for Birth
As you approach the final weeks of pregnancy, massage can offer a comforting space to slow down, release tension, and prepare emotionally for childbirth.
From 41 weeks, and in consultation with your midwife, additional attention may be given to gentle Marma techniques that support relaxation and preparation for birth. These techniques are not intended to medically induce labour.
A Moment for You and Your Baby
Whether you are experiencing physical discomfort, emotional changes, or simply wish to enjoy a peaceful moment during your pregnancy, this massage offers a nurturing space to reconnect with yourself and your baby.
A loving invitation to rest, soften, and embrace the beautiful journey into motherhood.
Your safety and comfort are always our priority. The treatment is adapted to your pregnancy, and where necessary, we recommend consulting your midwife or healthcare provider before booking.
Ayurvedic Mama / Postpartum Massage
75 minutes | €120
A nurturing experience of warmth, restoration, and reconnection with yourself.
The weeks and months following childbirth are a precious and transformative time. Your body has accomplished something extraordinary and deserves nourishment, warmth, rest, and gentle care.
While much attention naturally goes to your newborn, it is equally important to care for the mother.
In Ayurveda, the postpartum period is traditionally known as Sūtikā Kāla, a time dedicated to recovery, replenishment, and restoring balance.
Following pregnancy and childbirth, Vāta — the energy associated with movement, change, and the nervous system in Ayurvedic philosophy — is considered particularly sensitive. This may be reflected in feelings of exhaustion, restlessness, emotional sensitivity, or a need for extra warmth and grounding.
Our Ayurvedic Mama Massage offers a peaceful space where you can pause, receive care, and gently reconnect with your body.
What can you expect?
This nurturing treatment combines three traditional practices:
Warm Herbal Oil Massage — Abhyanga
A gentle, nourishing massage using warm herbal oils, traditionally valued in Ayurveda for their grounding and comforting qualities. The rhythmic movements help release muscular tension, soften the body, and encourage deep relaxation.
Marma Therapy — Gentle Energy Point Massage
Marma points are considered vital energy points within the Ayurvedic tradition. Gentle attention to these points encourages a sense of calm, balance, and connection between body and mind.
Moxa Therapy — Healing Warmth
Moxa is a traditional warming technique from Chinese medicine that uses mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) to apply gentle warmth to selected areas of the body.
The comforting warmth is traditionally used to support a sense of grounding, relaxation, and vitality. Following childbirth, this can be a particularly nurturing experience for mothers who feel tired, cold, or depleted.
Moxa is applied only when appropriate for your individual recovery.
Benefits of the Postpartum Massage
This treatment may help to:
- Relieve muscular tension, particularly in the back, neck, and shoulders.
- Encourage deep relaxation and calm the nervous system.
- Promote a sense of warmth, comfort, and grounding.
- Support emotional well-being during the transition into motherhood.
- Create space for rest, self-care, and reconnection with your body.
Honouring the Mother
In many traditional cultures, the weeks following childbirth are considered a sacred period in which the mother is cared for, nourished, and protected.
Ayurveda shares this philosophy: a mother who receives warmth, rest, and nourishment is better supported as she navigates the demands of motherhood.
This treatment is more than a massage. It is an invitation to slow down, release expectations, and allow yourself to be cared for.
Whether you have recently given birth or are further along in your postpartum journey, the treatment is adapted to your needs, comfort, and stage of recovery.
A loving moment to replenish your energy, restore your sense of balance, and come home to yourself.
Following a caesarean birth, complications, or ongoing medical concerns, we will discuss your recovery and determine whether massage and warming techniques are appropriate. Moxa and massage are complementary relaxation practices, not substitutes for medical postpartum care.
